Difference between the
Cybex Cloud G PRO and the Cloud T
Cloud T:
Designed with an optimized recline mechanism that tends to allow a more lie-flat or extended recline position when used with a compatible stroller or as part of a travel system, giving babies a more comfortable resting angle on the go.
Cloud G Pro:
Still has a good ergonomic recline (about 45 % more than a standard infant car seat) when used outside the vehicle, but reviewers and comparisons note that it doesn’t recline quite as far or as fully as the Cloud T on a compatible stroller setup.
In-car use:
Neither seat is meant to be used in a fully flat (lie-flat) position while driving — their more extended recline settings are for outside the vehicle or when on a travel system/stroller.
Key Differences
- Recline & Comfort:
- Cloud T: Offers a true, full lie-flat recline when used with compatible strollers, ideal for long strolls and premium comfort.
- Cloud G Pro: Features less recline on the stroller, focusing on a lighter, compact travel experience.
- Weight & Portability:
- Cloud G Pro and Cloud T weight about the same 12 Pounds the carrier part only, the bases do have a different weights. As far as size specs they are the same size. Both are about 26.5″ long (front-to-back) and 17.6″ wide.
- The Cloud G Pro base and the Cloud T base (load-leg style) offer the same base features and can often be used with either seat if you want a second base for another car, but it still doesn’t provide swivel/rotation in the car. Both bases use one-click rigid LATCH installation, both offer load leg and anti-rebound design for safety, and both recline and safety indicators to help ensure correct installation.
- Fabrics & Design:
- Cloud T: Premium, breathable materials, designed to be soft and comfortable for your baby and help keep them cool. Has mesh inserts for better airflow and breathability, which can be nicer in warmer weathers.
- Cloud G Pro: Standard fabrics, made of a blend of polyether foam and polyester fiber (about 57 % polyether foam + 43 % polyester fiber), which gives cushioning and soft feel while still being durable and supportive.
Safety: Both are very safe, but the Cloud T achieved a higher ADAC rating and features a deployable LSP system, while the Cloud G meets newer safety standards.
