Product Description
Mary Kom grew up in a village in north-east India, where her family had very little money and toys were a luxury. She spent her childhood playing sports and running outdoors. When she discovered boxing, she knew she had found her passion, even though some people, including her father, believed it was a sport for boys.
Through hard work, determination, and self-belief, Mary proved she belonged in the ring. She went on to win six world championship titles, earning the nickname “Magnificent Mary.”
Beyond her achievements in boxing, Mary opened an academy to train young athletes, served as a member of parliament, and campaigned for animal rights. In 2020, she received the Padma Vibhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors.
